The Perfect is the Enemy of the Good

The title quote came from getyourscrillaright.com well thats not the name, but thats what i'd call it. I have a lot of trouble with teaching because I am so busy pursuing perfection that I wind up doing nothing at all. I have a great unit planned that involves a series of pretty conceptual worksheets that I have not even written yet and because they are so hard to make. If I don't get it done I would wind up going to class with nothing and making up some shit, waiting for tomorrow when I have the whole lesson put together. Its hard to figure out when to accept that perfection is impossible and set my sights on the attainable, but I guess figuring that out is the difference between being productive and not just idealistic.
