Imagine a pool full of tasty beverages that you could swim through all afternoon and it would never taste nasty...
Wait, imagine eating dinner at your grandma's house but you can't seem to get full and she never stops filling your plate...
No, even better, imagine the feeling of running a victorious 400m dash without being winded or your having your legs lock up.
Seriously this time though, imagine remembering a random set of memories from your youth
- Shopping for liquor in 'iac-town with Rob Montana
- Ranking your car among the rest in your High School Parking lot
- The girl who had no idea how much sweet, glorious, and majestic love we could make together
- Listening to my older brothers music in middle school and completely disregarding the Hammer CDs in my dads collection.
- driving through bloomfield, driving through east lansing, driving through detroit,...driving
- Wagner 3:16
and integrating them with my current reality...Making a presentation, finalizing a resume, analyzing a lesson, being slightly reflective and euphoric (because I haven't ate).
Honestly, there is no way I can have you imagine what it is like to listen to Midnight Marauders for the first time in about 2 years. It is still by far my favorite cd and probably the most influential piece of music I could have listened to at the most impressionable time of my life,( shot out bobby ray for putting me on to that by the way). Now that I listen to it, I thought that it would be old, like the old bustarhymes I used to listen to before trackmeets, but this CD is still straight up sick. It can still hold its own. Q-tip was right at the end of The Chase Part II...
"...and we out like shout
...Nine Trey....
...OH Oh Oh oh oh I don't wanna say 'Nine Trey' 'cause my man Extra P says don't say the years,
so...it's for eternity...
