Age is bullshit

In this not drinking phase I've come to realize how not young I am. Friday I hung out at someone's little cocktail not drinking, and saturday had dinner at a trendy restaurant and desert at some Oprah-recommended restaurant with 20-30 people standing around for at least an hour waiting to eat there. At first I was thinking that that this might be cool if I was gone off a bottle of steel and perhaps a hit of something kind, but then I realized that I was looking at the future. All of the people were my age, a little older, all were way to consumed with the jobs they hate, or their mortgage, or how much fun they used to have as kids. The party, the trendy restaurant, it all seemed like an act, like people that were pretending to have fun, there was no sense of the freedom and spontaneity and fun like weekend activities are supposed to be. It was scary because I feel like slowly our generation is getting sucked into this world and I feel like its a year or so 'til I get my number pulled.

Regardless, I bought a new computer which means that I can we surf and find cool things like:

Got $500? Want a house in Detroit?

Got $300+ CD's? Want an ipod?

Got a easy program that helps you download free music that's better than limewire? Tell me about it because I don't trust this limewire with my hard drive yet.

DUDE.

yes we're all getting old. i feel it every goddamn day. you just have to remain vital, remain fresh. that's all you can do. seriously, before you know it, you're 30 yrs old. even when life sucks, just think, "damn, i'm still sub-30. and that's a plus."

yes, dude, http://www.slsknet.org/ . it's money, especially for hip hop - not rap - and house/techno/jazz... all the stuff real music lovers are into. it works like napster - full albums, in a row. and NO AD/SPY WARE.

seriously, there's nothing better.

Yeah, I know but its not the number that I'm worried about, what I'm really worried about is having my 30 suck balls. My brother is 30+ and by my estimation he is living the fucking life right now, I'm bout to meet up with him at State for homecoming in couple of weeks where I plan to stop my sobriety plan.

Anyways, I'll try that out, what do you think about the bit torrent stuff?

it's ok, but spotty. what it's really useful for, if you can find a good channel/program, is finding movies and tv shows -- last yr, when i missed 24 whatever night it was on, i'd just download it. that channel disappeared though.

for music, soulseek is where it's at, no question.

damn, i drank for the first time in ages last weekend, and the resulting pics are HOT. the hangover was NOT HOT. the lecture from my boyfriend (absent that night) entitled: "caution, possible seizure" was the WORST.
