After first finding a place to stay, then cleaning the place to stay I was able to find a bed in the attic of my new house. It was a little dirty and what not so I was able to clean it and now I will finally sleep in my own room for the first time since before the Pistons were NBA Champions. I went to a movie yesterday in Harvard square. It was Loews movie theater, like they have a whole bunch of places. But the movies they were showing were mostly art movies and documentaries and not hollywood blockbusters. The only two movies that I have heard of were The terminal and Kill Bill 2. I went to go see this movie called Coffee and Cigarettes, which had a very packed theater, and other people around town were talking about it, and I had never heard of it before. It was in all black and white, and was a collection of vignettes with coffee and cigarettes. The RZA, the GZA and Bill Murray were in it in their own vignette, so were the White Stripes, and a bunch of other people.
In other news, being homesick sucks. This whole Boston, Harvard thing might be cool down the road, but right now I know like 5 people here, and all of them aren't doing anything like what I was doing in college, or even the night that I left. I was tempted to by a plane ticket and fly home for next weekend just to hang out. My mom and my lack of resources managed to convince me otherwise, but the urge to go back for something familiar is still around. I guess after a while I will be better, or I will change to the point that I cannot go home, because I will be different. Regardless, I am convinced there would be no way for my life to be the same a year from now as it was a year ago, no matter what happens, all I can do is make that year from now the best it can be.
Tommorrow is going to be the first day of the program. I will meet all of the other students and get to know them as well as some of my professors. Since I don't know them yet I could use this time to make all kind of mean comments about them and whatever I can base off of their email addresses like... "oliverc3? more like ADOLF OLIVER BUSH!!" Ha, that's great, even it is me. but I don't want to start thinking that just because someones email address says Wellesley.edu, they can't beat my ass. You never know
