DEEEETROIT BAASKEETBAALL (sniff)

Yes it is a sad day in the city of motors... But not a day to hang our heads. The season was a long odyssey where the conquering heroes of last year who were on their way to back to the promised land of the NBA championship before set back after set back plagued them. Now after surviving the brawl, the disease that affected the coach, their prize draft picks flaming out on them, and standing on the edge of elimination time after time only to succeed, they unfortunately have lost at the last stage of their jouney, game 7 of the finals.
Had they won the game, life for the pistons would not be that different. There would be a great deal of champagne and novelty t-shirts, but the locker room chat would be pretty much the same...
We've came alongway this season, despite having only a seven man rotation, despite having spotty offensive game, and despite whatever the media say about ratings, or cleveland, or how great A.I., Reggie, Wade, Shaq, and Parker & co. were supposed to be, we are still here. After proving to the NBA again that we are the best, we need to prove to ourselves that we can do it again. As much as the focus of the news and the media is going to be on what happened this season, the whole of the NBA is trying to figure out how they can stop us next season. So, after a little bit of rest, this summer needs to be spent preparing for next season. The season where we not only fight the Wade's and the parker's of our league for our place in the standings but also for our place in history, to let this piston team grow into one of the great teams of all time.

And as this quest ends short of a championship, the present journey has been extended into a quest to once again reach the championship sure to filled with more mishaps and challenges, and to continue dominance into the future establsihing the legend of these Detroit Pistons
