Comp AIR ison

As I left Boston this morning I thought it would be a good chance to compare their progressive talk radio to the conservative talk that permeates the air waves of damn near every square foot of this country. Hence the double meaning in the title (a la DJ Frankensence of the Surrendertotheflow.blogspot.com blog).

So I started off listening to Air America's morning sedition as I left Boston. This shit was hilarious, they have straight up comedians telling jokes about everything, but mostly the political right. They brought in a guy to talk about the separation of church and state who brought up the constitution and the reasons why they think christmas shouldn't be forced on all americans.

This faded so then I started listening to a pretty sick collection of House CD's that I put together before the trip.

Once I got around Albany I started back with the first show I could tune into. The first one I found began with the woman refrencing christianity, before going on a huge rant about the need of the US to not argue against the war, or anything war related, and finally rounding it out by giving the specifics of a special edition hand gun, which was to be auctioned off that day. I tuned in a little later and she had on this military guy. They were talking about if rumsfeld should resign, the guy thought he should, she thought he shouldn't...so she poked holes in his argument based on her assumptions and then told the audience that they shouldn't buy his book. Handled like a 12 year-old.

Following that I put in Hello Nasty and waited for noon to see who would start off the big slot.

Bill O'Reilly and the No Spin Zone led off the 12:00 for most of new york. He spent most of his time talking about the 'secularists' who were waging war on Christmas. However he did mention that zarqawi and the 'islamo-fascists' who know how much the 'tragedy-tv' media likes showing the dead troops, so they are going to try ruin christmas in their own way by doing all their killing now, which is how he discussed the bombing today in Mosul (If you didn't get that, he said the troops died today because of the liberal media). Parts of it were disturbing though, he said that the world doesn't care about the darfur killing (already problematic), "number one because they're black..." I tried calling in at this point but of course I couldn't get through. but like I said he focused on the secularists' attack on christmas, especially Macy's who won't say Merry Christmas to patrons anymore. He says boycott Macy's till they get a little more christian. He kept referring to it as a war, or whatever.

Conclusion, it seems like the right really think they are right. Seems like the left is a little well less serious about this whole "lets talk about issues during the day thing" The right backs up all of their arguments with much sounder logic, much more plainner speak, straight shooter talk while the left will go straight to the constitution, straight for the law books and the precedents when they explain stuff. Perhaps speaks to the recent election results. However the Air America wins on the comedy, it is at times like daily show in your car, at times.
